A hiker with a dream, Paul lived with his wife M’Lynn in Australia. Like so many, he longed to hike the Appalachian Trail.
But Paul died in July, 2015. He left behind a loving wife, a pile of hiking gear, and three pairs of boots, polished and ready to hit the trail. M’Lynn reached out to The Dirtbag Diaries. She hoped to connect with hikers who could wear Paul’s boots on the A.T., and send her photos.
This was the inspiration of the above film, Paul’s Boots. A major project by REI and Duct Tape Then Beer, the film is a moving tribute. About 30 hikers wore Paul’s boots along the A.T., resulting in this inspiring story.
