Chalk one up for ingenuity. This ice sled is built from a flat-bottom boat with metal pipe runners, an old outboard engine, and a clutch that engages a saw blade that bites into the ice for thrust. The video poster calls it a “forerunner to the snowmobile.”
I’m not sure how long this idea has been around, but if you’ve got an old motor, a johnboat, a six pack, and plenty of spare time, this could make for an amusing Sunday afternoon.
If we have to tell you this could be dangerous, well, we’ll just go ahead and tell you — attempt at your own risk!
