Chrome 'Collabs' on Beer-Branded Messenger Bag
December 27, 2011, 1:06 pm / Categories: Biking, Packs
One year, over a few months’ time, I drank a swill of Miller High Life beer and collected enough “Miller points” to purchase myself a faux-fleece lined flannel hat. When it arrived the hat was ill-fitting and ugly, yet I glowed with a strong sense of accomplishment. Another occasion, I won a messenger bag for placing first in a bicycle limbo contest. This item also was ill-fitting and ugly, but it also gave me the same sense of cool satisfaction as the hat.
Well, check this out: You can now skip the gallons of cheap beer and weeks of practicing a useless bike-limbo technique and jump straight to the glowing sense of blue-collar cool with one of Chrome’s limited-release Miller High Life collection messenger bags.
Teaming up with the “Champagne of Beers” for this co-branded collection, Chrome cites “blue-collar collaboration for the ages” with its gaudy, Highlife-emblazoned messenger bag. The bag is built with a long-wearing, 1,000-denier “weatherproof” Cordura outer shell. It is based off the company’s Citizen model, which is 22 inches wide and can fit items like a large laptop or a load from the grocery store, including some beer, most appropriately.
Says Chrome of the collab, “Miller High Life has been brewing beer for more than 100 years. While Chrome has not yet reached that milestone, we’ve been making the Citizen buckle bag by hand in America for over a decade with the intention that it will last 100 years as well.”
The Miller High Life collection bags are made in the USA. Chrome stitched up just 250 of ‘em for the first run, so buy now if you have a soft spot for what is arguably the best-tasting cheap beer. Now’s your chance to fly, or rather roll, the beery and logo’d Miller flag.
