Film series to feature Minnesota Adventure Athletes

Love adventure sports? Love playing outdoors in Minnesota? We do! Indeed, GearJunkie.com is based in Minneapolis. The wilds of Minnesota, from Lake Superior to the deep North Woods, are our primary outdoors playground.
Production company Adventure Minnesota Films this fall begins working on a series of videos called Among the Wild. The series will highlight “four Minnesota athletes in their fierce pursuit of outdoor-adventure sports.”
How to fund such an idea? It’s 2012, so as may be expected the group has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise a needed $10,000.
Team GearJunkie’s own Justin Bakken, one of the country’s top adventure racers and founder of team WEDALI, is a nominee in the running to be featured in the film. The four selected outdoor athletes will be picked from a list of 21 public nominations submitted last spring.
Check out the group’s Kickstarter page, and if you’re in the area mark your calendar for September 29, when the group will hold a major fundraising event. GearJunkie.com is one sponsor of the event, which will be held in Minneapolis’ Minnehaha Park and include live music, food, over $3,000 in gear prizes, and an orienteering scavenger hunt race open to all. Hope to see you there!
