Launch! 'Off The Map' Video Series
April 16, 2012, 3:43 pm / Categories: Miscellaneous, Hiking
The adventure is on! This year, the GearJunkie crew heads “Off The Map” to iconic outdoor destinations around North America. Follow us from sea caves on Lake Superior to California’s infamous Lost Coast Trail on an exclusive micro-site and five-part video series.
Sponsored by Yakima, in each episode GearJunkie founder Stephen Regenold and a crew of adventurers will take viewers on a unique trip. The first episode, “The Lost Coast,” which debuts today, was shot in March during a wild two-day trek near Eureka, Calif.
The video series, like last fall’s “Fast & Light” project, will be filmed by T.C. Worley and edited by Joshua VP.
We filmed episode No. 2 in early April on Lake Superior. Next week, we head to the Maah Daah Hey Trail, a remote mountain biking route through the Badlands of North Dakota.
Watch episode No. 1, “The Lost Coast,” now. Stay tuned by monitoring our micro-site, where we will release new videos each month, articles, maps, photos, and blog posts to track the entire “Off The Map” experience!
Awesome! I have been interested in the Lost Coast video ever since you guys said you were going on the trip. I look forward to watching after work this evening and I also look forward to future episodes. It’s a really sweet project.

Mattole Creek down to Shelter Cove is a great hike for testing wet weather new gear. Myself and 3 others hiked the 25 mile Northern section in February earlier this year…
