Carbon Multisport Helmet

Va2or, a new company in France, created one of the lightest multi-sport helmets soon to be on the market. The Kip Carbon weighs a mere 8 ounces for the small/medium build and just an ounce more for the large/extra-large hard hat.

Designed as a four-season helmet, the carbon-fiber-shell Kip Carbon can be used for everything from kayaking and mountain biking to skiing and wind surfing. It’s certified by three European standards.

It has removable ear flaps — and inner pads — to transform it from winter to summer riding. A ski goggle attachment accessory helps keep goggles in place.

The helmet, which has a carbon-fiber look with orange, blue, green or purple accents, should be available in March or April for 200 euros (about $290). www.va2or.com
