Winner! 'Checkpoint: SPOT' (AeroTech Bike Case)
August 15, 2011, 8:57 am / Categories: Article
Our new contest with Spot LLC, ‘Checkpoint: SPOT’, kicked off a few days ago, and we’re happy to report our first winner! Randall Dietel of Minneapolis pegged the Minnesota checkpoint in the nationwide treasure hunt event and snagged himself a sweet piece of swag — a $1,400 airline bike case made by SCI’CON!
Dietel biked to find the Minnesota checkpoint, located at the head of a mountain-bike trail system in Minneapolis. He checked in with his SPOT device, and then later at home he registered on our contest page, www.checkpointspot.com, to claim the prize.
The bike case, called the AeroTech Evolution, is made in Italy and imported to the United States through Albabici. It was reviewed on GearJunkie last spring. Dietel, who is a professional bike courier and an amateur racer, plans to use the case this fall on a trip to Oregon, where he will race in a series of cyclocross events before setting out on a bike tour of the coast. “Perfect timing,” he said of the win.
There are 11 unclaimed ‘Checkpoint: SPOT’ locations still on the contest map here. Sign up and register for your chance to win! Promotion runs through October 31, 2011. Good luck!
