The new Ikon Pass resorts in Japan and British Columbia come after the company added three additional locations earlier this year.
Fans of the Ikon Pass have two more powder-coated reasons to look forward to winter: one in Japan and one in British Columbia.
Skiers and riders with Ikon Pass now enjoy entrance to the Lotte Arai Resort in Myoko City, Japan, and Panorama Mountain Resort in British Columbia.
Ikon Pass announced the addition of the two resorts on Sept. 1, bringing its total number of ski resorts to 51.
If you used Ikon Pass last year, then the company actually offers five new destinations for the coming season. In the spring, Ikon also added Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley in France, Sun Valley in Idaho, and Snowbasin in Utah.
“Now is the time that skiers and riders start thinking about next season,” said Erik Forsell, Chief Marketing Officer for Alterra Mountain Company, in a news release.
New Ikon Pass Resorts
The Lotte Arai Resort perches 225 miles from Tokyo, Japan. With up to 800 inches of snowfall per season, skiers can find stellar powder and varied terrain for all abilities, Ikon Pass said.
Ikon Pass holders have access to 7 days at Lotte Arai Resort with no blackout dates. Those with Ikon Base Passes will have access for 5 days, also without blackout dates. This resort is unavailable on the lowest-tier Session Pass.
As for Panorama Mountain Resort, it’s found along the Canadian province’s famous Powder Highway. The resort offers 4,265 feet of everything from vertical fall-line cruisers to powdery treelines, plus the “steep and deep exhilaration” of Taynton Bowl, Ikon Pass said.
Ikon Pass holders will have access to 7 days at Panorama with no blackout dates. Base Pass holders will have access to 5 days with select blackout dates. Unlike Lotte Arai, you can also visit Panorama as an Ikon Session Pass holder.
Ski and Save: Ikon ‘Session Pass’ Details
The Session Pass arrives new this year as Ikon’s option for those looking for shorter stints in the mountains.
Skiers who want a quick getaway of 2-4 days can purchase the cut-rate pass. It offers access to 38 destinations, though with select blackout dates. The 2-day option runs $269.
Session Passes include classics like Snowbird and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort as well as two international locales: Panorama and Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley. Check out the whole array of Ikon Pass offers online, including nurse, military, and student discount structures.
