Bike brands are rarely a source for music. But a stalwart internet station we go to for tunes at the GearJunkie office is the Fixtapes page on Solé Bicycle Company’s site.
Check it out if you’re into ambient, trance, funk, dance, and EDM-influenced music, most all with a solid SoCal vibe (Solé is based in Venice, Calif.). It’s good, lively office music that can also serve as background when you need to think.
Solé Bicycle, founded in 2009 by two friends, sells city bikes, single-speeds, and fixed-gear rides. They started the brand after being “fed up with the state of bicycles” and hoping to make “stylish and affordable bicycles” to sell to the masses.
The company offers base models and also builds collaboration projects with artists and brands.
The “Beats by Dre” bike was made in partnership with the headphone company, and the Sole Bicycles For Lollapalooza was commissioned by organizers at the famous music festival.
Bikes start at $399. The music is free.
