You’ve probably heard of adventure racing, but have you ever really seen it? Not only is the “Raid in France” one of the sport’s most well-established races, but it’s also a qualifier for the AR World Series.

This year’s race set off on June 22, spanned 400 km from Bourg Saint Maurice to Aix-les-Bains, demanded 16,000 feet of elevation gain, and involved whitewater rafting, mountain biking, orienteering, the highest peak in the Alps, and “the most-visited natural site in the world” (according to race organizers).
