It’s not always easy to find a rental motorcycle when traveling, bur Hertz Ride is out to change that. New-to-the-U.S. Hertz Ride has set up motorcycle rental locations in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Hertz Ride — a subsidiary of the popular Hertz car rental agency — has been widely available across Europe for a few years already. It has motorcycle rental locations in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Austria, and Slovenia.
Just last month, it opened its first U.S. locations in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Miami.
German Bikes on American Roads
The U.S. Hertz Ride rental fleet is comprised completely of BMW motorcycles, with the F700GS and R12509GS being the most adventurous. Both these bikes are great for on- and off-road adventure rides.
The R Nine T Scrambler is probably the most stylish and fun around-town motorcycle on offer. If you’re looking for a slick, compact city bike to get you through Los Angeles traffic on your next business trip, this is the bike for you. Remember, lane splitting and traffic filtering are legal in California.
If big, long-distance road-touring bikes are more your thing, Hertz Ride also offers the R1250RT, K1600B, and K1600 Grand America. These bikes can carry lots of gear and a passenger with ease over America’s great open roads.
More Than Just Bike Rentals
Besides top-quality rental bikes from BMW, Hertz Rides also offers top-tier rental riding gear and tour options.
Rev’It riding apparel and NEXX Helmets are available at all Hertz Ride locations for rent. Carrying this bulky safety gear when traveling can be tough. It’s great to know you can rent top-level gear with your bike.
If you like the gear at the end of the rental, you can also buy it. Hertz will drop ship it to your home address.
Besides the rental bikes and gear, Hertz Ride also offers guided and self-guided tours. While this is just getting started in the U.S., there are some truly stunning tours on offer across Europe.
They have some big mountains over there with some super-curvy roads. That combo creates some of the best motorcycle touring on the planet!
Motorcycle Rental Options
If you want to rent a motorcycle in other parts of the U.S. not yet serviced by Hertz Ride, there are really only a few options out there. Tourist destinations often have one or two local motorcycle rental locations, one of which is usually the local Harley-Davidson dealer.
The other option is to check out the Airbnb of the motorcycle rental world, Twisted Road. Through the website, you can rent motorcycles of all types from local owners around the globe.
