Ever wondered about planning, training, and safety while hiking solo, or what to do in a backcountry emergency? 57hours has you covered in its latest webinar.

57hours is partnering with Jack Wolfskin, RECCO, Somewear Labs, and us(!) for a new, safety-focused backpacking webinar on August 12. The webinar will cover an array of safety tips for backpacking and hiking, but with a focus on thru-hiking the 2,190-mile Appalachian Trail.

Michelle “Fyrfly” Michaud will be your webinar guide. Michaud has been hiking the Appalachian Trail since 1998 and has completed the entire 2,220-mile trail multiple times.

Michaud will dive into the tools she uses for safety in the backcountry based on her thru-hiking experience, plus her 13 years working as a firefighter and trauma EMT.
