Melding a music festival with a weekend of outdoors activity and camping has been FloydFest’s calling card since its founding in 2002. This year’s four-day event, July 25-28, 2013, in the Appalachians outside of Floyd, Va., will be no different, including 100+ acts with up to 15,000 attendees per day.

Beyond the music scene that anchors the weekend, you can camp, climb, run, bike, hike, and generally get into nature with like-minded folks. The event is family friendly and has designated camping zones to keep the peace (the parties are out of earshot from there).

It’s a wild weekend any way you go. Music highlights this year include Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, The Lumineers, Old Crow Medicine Show, John Butler Trio, Brandi Carlile, Citizen Cope, Yonder Mountain String Band. . . and much more.
