It’s not the lightest multi-tool in Gerber’s line. But the Strata, at a solid 7.4oz, is a multi-tool that has almost everything an outdoorsperson might need — saw, scissors, file, knife and even a “retail package opener” in the mix.
It has a half-serrated, half-straight blade. The needle-nose pliers is equipped with a wire cutter, as is now standard in the industry. That retail package opener? It’s essentially a knife made to help open pesky retail packages that encase everything from headlamps to toy cars in almost-impenetrable plastic.
The Strata tool incorporates Gerber’s “Saf.T.Plus” locking system, which keeps all the tools secure whether in use or stowed. It will be available in February for $100. https://www.gerbergear.com
