Professional snowboarder and moonlight model Gretchen Bleiler teamed up with Oakley to produce her own line of outerwear and eyewear. The new line, which launched in 2008 but is updated every year, is touted to mix “Bleiler’s style with Oakley’s technical features.”
The line consists of a handful of jackets, goggles and sunglasses, some snow pants, apparel and hats.
The Mane Jacket 2.0, for instance, is a waterproof, breathable outer layer with Thinsulate insulation. It has a stretchy polyester face fabric that provides “enough give to go big,” as the company puts it. The technical features are there. And it looks good.
Other items in the Bleiler line, like the Stockholm goggle, are simply stylish versions of what Oakley has already produced. Gretchen Bleiler’s full Oakley collection is currently available. https://www.oakley.com/women/gbcollection
