She knits her eyebrows and purses her lips in a facial expression you could call “sincere,” appearing to evaluate her statement.

Then she breaks into a smile and launches into take two.

It can be justifiably hard to find a positive take in the often-heartbreaking modern reality of wildfires. But when life gives you alpine hills with little low growth to speak of, and snow, you ski it.
