Goodbye to a Legend: 2026 Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition

The latest Supra is almost done, but that doesn't mean it's going to fade away. The Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition promises better handling to go with sharper looks. Both work to help send this sports coupe off with an appropriate bang.

Toyota is getting ready to say goodbye to the fifth generation of its beloved Supra. But the Toyota GR Supra MkV isn’t just going to go away. Toyota is sending it off strongly with a quicker and more aggressive farewell package, the Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition.

It’s been just 6 years since Akio Toyoda brought the Supra back to the streets. It took a still-controversial collaboration with BMW, but the result was a serious sports car — one that lived up to the iconic badge it wore.

New Suspension Promises Improved Handling

Toyota has made small changes to improve the car every year since it was launched. The changes are part of what is called “kaizen” in Japan — continuous improvement, making things a little bit better every time. The 2026 Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition gets the newest of those changes, helping to make it even better.

We’ll start listing the changes at the pavement and work up. The Final Edition will get Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires to maximize traction. New suspension settings change the camber setting at all four wheels, which Toyota says adds cornering stability.

The electronic dampers are also new, or at least the calibration has been changed. They work with a new front sway bar to help heighten the car’s cornering abilities. New rubber mounts for the rear subframe and bushings in the front control arms also tighten up the car’s responses.

Toyota GR has tweaked the rear differential for the Final Edition. Toyota’s racing team has also altered the engine and automatic transmission control maps to reduce understeer. Larger Brembo brakes should deliver more predictable stopping even through extended sessions of fast driving.

The 2026 Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition also has cosmetic and aero enhancements. The ducktail rear spoiler and front wheel arch flaps, for example, help reduce lift. The spoiler, along with the mirror caps, are made from carbon fiber simply to make the car look better.

GT4-Inspired Graphics Package

It won’t arrive until the fall, but Toyota will also offer an even more aggressive look for the Final Edition cars. The GT4 style pack is inspired by Toyota’s GT4-series racing Supras and adds new side graphics, a matte-finished spoiler, and red mirror caps. It will come in two colors, Burnout and Undercover, which aren’t available without the package.

Only the 3.0L twin-turbo I6 will be available for the 2026 Supra. It makes 382 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque, and Toyota offers an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed stick.

2026 Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition cars start from $67,950 for either the stick or the slushbox. That’s a big increase over lesser-grade cars, but Toyota will still offer base and Premium-spec Supras for 2026. The base model costs $56,900 plus destination, Premium $60,050. Sales start in the spring, and production of the Supra will end in spring 2026.

Are we expecting a gen VI GR Supra? Yes. But Toyota hasn’t confirmed anything yet, so as of now, this could be your last chance to get behind the wheel of a new Supra. Even if it isn’t a 10-second car.
