Between now and the end of March, The North Face is running a Strava challenge with a big goal — 100 km — and big prizes too.
The North Face just launched its VECTIV Power Further, Together Challenge. The monthlong virtual competition invites runners and hikers of all abilities to get out and experience a variety of trails outdoors. And no, you don’t need to be wearing the brand’s VECTIV footwear to join in.
Hosted on Strava, this challenge is open to anyone worldwide — all you need is a Strava account and some willpower. The North Face hopes the challenge will “enable athletes to participate and track against personal and collective milestones regardless of location.”
The North Face specified that Strava will automatically count miles walked, ran, hiked, or rolled (for wheelchair users) toward the goal. Even better, the app will automatically add your miles.
The goal set for each participant? 100 km. But there’s also a larger global goal of 148 million km — and smaller goals too.
Power Further, Together Challenge: The Perks
At each 20km interval, participants will unlock a new reward. Think The North Face gear, chances to win the brand’s new VECTIV footwear, and more.
Another perk of the challenge, besides gear rewards, is special “hidden trails.” The North Face has hidden trail segments in five major cities across the U.S. (Boston, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, and Seattle). Walking, running, hiking, or rolling along these trails will earn participants special Strava badges and a “gift” for their next adventure.
So far, over 300,000 people have signed up to participate. Join the challenge on Strava.
