New York-based BioLite is known for its power-generating camp stoves. Today, the company announced a camping lantern that gives power and can light up a tent or picnic table with 500 lumens of glow.
The unit, called the BaseLantern, costs $99. Right now, though, early birds can pick up the unit for $79 on Kickstarter. It is small — about 5 x 5 x 1.7 inches — and weighs a bit more than 1 pound.
