Outdoors/fitness-instrument and sport-watch manufacturer Highgear USA announced a licensing agreement today with consumer giant New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc.
A new line of New Balance Sports Monitors—which will include pedometers, running watches and heart-rate monitors—will be made by Highgear. New Balance Sports Monitors will be available in March.
“To be associated with an industry powerhouse like New Balance is an amazing opportunity for Highgear,” states Mike Hosey, president and founder of Highgear.
(New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc. employs more than 2,800 people; in 2005 it reported sales of $1.54 billion.)
