Love your partner a whole lot? Want to hone your skills together? Check out the AAC and TINCUP’s Partner in Adventure Grant.
Whiskey pairings usually mean fruit, chocolate, and cheese boards, but this pairing is a little different. TINCUP Whiskey joined forces with the American Alpine Club to create the Partner in Adventure Grant, which will fund educational opportunities for you and your partner to take your “pursuit to the next level.”
What does that mean? Apply for the grant, and it will fund almost any educational opportunity of your choice.
The grant is open to duos of all experience levels and will award partners up to $1,000. Applications are open through October 29, so now’s the time to start your application!
There are a few guidelines for the Partner in Adventure grant, but they are pretty standard:
- You must be 21 years of age or older to apply.
- Include in your application a certified guide, service, or instructor course you’ll work with.
- The grant is only open to U.S. residents (and the course must also be in the U.S.).
Now comes the fun part: recruiting your partner. The AAC describes a partner in adventure as “someone who encourages you to push beyond your comfort zone and motivates you to explore the world.”
Simply, an adventure partner is someone who is by your side.
Here are a few ideas for educational courses to take your skills to the next level:
- Intro to backpacking course
- SPI course
- Lead climbing course
- Via ferrata course
- AMGA course
- Wilderness First Aid course
- Intro to ice climbing course
- Fly fishing course
Of course, it can be any objective you want. Challenge yourself, get creative, and have fun.
