The Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Northern Minnesota is an idyllic place to canoe, hike, camp and fish in the Spring, Summer and Fall. For hardy souls it can be just as idyllic in the Winter.
With stunning visuals on the miles of frozen lakes and trails it truly is a one-of-a-kind experience. My traveling partner and I were on a gear testing mission with gear from Granite Gear, REI, Sierra Designs, Outdoor Research and others. A separate article is coming on how the gear performed but until then please enjoy the BWCA in pictures.

We put in on Bearskin Lake, camped on Duncan Lake and hiked both of those in addition to Rose and Daniels and the portages in between.
