Air Attack helmet

So why would you wear the Air Attack versus a TT?

The Air Attack is not as fast as a TT helmet in a wind tunnel test. But it can be faster in a real-world race depending on the length of the course, the wind conditions, and the rider’s positioning.

Where the Air Attack benefit comes from is that it weighs less than a TT and if you turn your head with a regular TT you get wind drag. Also, the Air Attack is cooler, which can increase performance.

Wind tunnel test

How much time do you spend in wind tunnels in a given year?

There are three tunnels we use, in Seattle, Vancouver, and Arizona. I might go to one during development for a couple days at a time. I’m probably in a tunnel 10 days a year. After that phase, we head outdoors and ride!
