‘Guide to Alleycat Bike Racing’ (GearJunkie collab with Outside)

Outside magazine collaborated with GearJunkie this month to assemble a beginner’s guide to alleycat bike racing. “With the number of urban cyclists surging, more and more riders are taking part in alleycats,” Outside cited.

This is the second urban biking topic we’ve looked at with Outside of late. (See “Outside Magazine asks GearJunkie Editor to ‘Debate’ Fixed-Gear Bikes.”)

For the recent piece, our editor/founder Stephen Regenold (himself an alleycat enthusiast) wrote on alleycat racing and its terminology, the major events, and the gear you need to race on the street. Take a read if alleycat races have ever intrigued your urban-biking side.
