Do you love The Cycling Podcast? Unique jerseys? Check out MAAP’s new limited-edition designs celebrating podcast co-founder Richard Moore.
Richard Moore made a significant impact on the cycling world. The co-founder of The Cycling Podcast — one of biking’s most influential news programs — Moore became a household name in the sport.
Tragically, Moore passed away in March 2022. One of his final projects involved a collaboration with MAAP to create a unique and fun activation for this year’s Tour de France. His idea has now resulted in a “Jersey Vote.”
Essentially, the cycling community gets to vote for their favorite of several Cycling Podcast team jerseys. Different eras of cycling inspired the various choices, but the winning jersey will also feature a buffalo motif in honor of Moore’s nickname.
As Alan Pattullo explained in a loving tribute in The Scotsman:
The Buffalo was the nickname given to Richard because of his ability and eagerness to forge ahead and get the job done, whether it be interviewing riders or making reservations for that night’s meal after a long, arduous day staying just ahead of the peloton. It’s an assignment requiring far more gumption and zest than simply sitting in a press box for 90 minutes.
Voters can choose from three jersey options: check, dot, or fade. In addition, adding your vote means a chance to win the entire collection from MAAP’s longtime collaboration with The Cycling Podcast. Voting ends on July 24, with the results announced by The Cycling Podcast on-air shortly after the peloton hits Paris.
If you’re on a commercial break from watching the Tour de France, consider taking a moment to vote on your favorite jersey. It’s a chance to support the podcast while remembering one of the cycling industry’s most passionate voices.
Get in on this and vote for your favorite MAAP The Cycling Podcast jersey.
