Bikers know that wearing the wrong gloves on a cold ride leads to frozen fingers. Pearl Izumi’s latest, the P.R.O. Lobster Wind Mitts, offer a switchable design for battling frozen appendages in various conditions.
The full-finger biking gloves can be converted to lobster gloves via fabric stashed under a back-of-the-hand pocket.
New this fall, the P.R.O. Lobsters transform fast from five-finger gloves to a windproof lobster mitt. It has a padded leather palm and a vented mesh back. There is reflective piping for extra visibility when riding at night.
Range of use might include everything from cyclocross racing to early-morning autumn runs. The mitts can work for winter bike commuting when the weather is frigid in the morning but a little warmer during the ride home.
The P.R.O. Lobster Wind Mitts are currently available for $45. www.pearlizumi.com
