Want to race up the biggest ski jump in North America? Well, now’s your chance.
The Red Bull 400 is a gut-buster of a race. Coined the “world’s steepest 400-meter,” the event is certain to redline your heart rate.
This year, it will take place in Michigan for the first time, where competitors will scale the epic Copper Peak, an iconic ski flying hill.
Race Up Copper Peak
Copper Peak is the only “ski flying” hill in the United States. Larger than its ski jumping brethren, there are only six ski flying hills in the world.
Copper Peak hasn’t seen a ski flying competition since 1994. But facility organizers hope “to re-establish Copper Peak as the western hemisphere’s biggest active ski jump.”
It plans to host the Summer Grand Prix competitions and showcase Northern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula as a “global outdoor recreation destination.”
And the Red Bull 400 is a showcase to behold.
On May 12, competitors will claw their way up 40 stories to the top of the ski jump in a crazily painful 400-meter run.
