The gaudy, hash-marked green/turquoise carpet coating the floors at Portland International Airport in Oregon has developed something of a cult following, including a Facebook page and an Instagram account with nearly 20K fans.
Today, Portland-based KEEN Footwear jumped on the wagon with its Yogui PDX slip-on shoes. The sandals — nicknamed “PeeDee” — have a textured footbed the company touts “lightly massages tired feet.”
They sound solid for standing in line at PDX. Otherwise, the injection-molded sandals with an EVA lining look good for camping, beachwear or every day footwear around town.
They come in men’s and women’s models for $60 in a limited, online-only release.
If you’re among the fans of the PDX shag, pick up a pair. Or anyone outside of Oregon might enjoy the strangely soothing color scheme, which to us harkens a very solid 1980s aesthetic.
