Who would have thought shoes with toes would ever become such a thing? Vibram’s ubiquitous FiveFingers “foot gloves” have sold like mad in recent years, so much so that the company is opening a store dedicated to all things VFF.
It opens tomorrow in Boston and is touted to be “a brand experience and a destination where visitors can explore, relax and learn more about Vibram and the benefits of minimalist footwear and training.”
What’s more, the shop isn’t just opening in some strip mall but on Boston’s swanky Newbury Street, which is a glittery avenue with brick and high-end retail for blocks and blocks.
The Vibram FiveFingers flagship store, at 292 Newbury Street, opens tomorrow, Saturday, April 14, for business. There’s a ribbon cutting at noon before press and the general public are unleashed into the store and its “experiential zones,” which are touted as allowing visitors to wear-test FiveFingers “on inlaid marbles, woodchips, grass and even a bumpy subway yellow line.”
Vibram giveaways and complimentary espresso for VFF-wearing patrons will be served.
