Plagued By Injury, Lindsey Vonn Cancels Plan To Race In Olympics

I am devastated to announce that I will not be able to compete in Sochi. I did everything I possibly could to somehow get strong enough to overcome having no ACL but the reality has sunk in that my knee is just too unstable to compete at this level. -Vonn

Less than 30 minutes ago, American ski champion Lindsey Vonn announced on her Facebook page she will not compete at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Vonn notes she is having surgery soon and will be ready for the World Championships in Vail next February.

We wish Vonn the best as she works to recover from an injury that plagues so many skiers.
