Skiers can now shred the Selkirks with 2,900 acres of big-mountain terrain.
Just as spring skiing gives way to summer sports, Ikon Pass today added a little bit of stoke to carry skiers through to next winter. For 2021-2022, passholders will have access to Schweitzer Mountain, the largest ski area in Idaho and neighboring Washington.
Ikon Pass holders will have access to 7 days at Schweitzer with no blackout dates. And Ikon Base Pass holders will have access to 5 days each, with select blackout dates. Schweitzer will also be available on the Ikon Session Pass.
“We are excited to invite Ikon Pass holders to Idaho to discover the big terrain and special culture of Schweitzer,” said Erik Forsell, chief marketing officer for Ikon parent company Alterra Mountain Company. “Schweitzer is a unique and independent mountain that is ideal for the Ikon Pass community.”
The addition of Schweitzer provides 2,900 acres of big-mountain skiing for passholders. Located 80 miles from Spokane, Wash., in the town of Sandpoint, Idaho, Schweitzer prides itself on “stunning views of Lake Pend Oreille,” the largest lake in the Gem State.
It also bills itself as the best family-friendly resort in the entire Pacific Northwest, with “massive bowls and renowned tree skiing.” With the addition of Schweitzer, Ikon now offers access to 45 destinations worldwide.
