The new (free!) three-tiered membership program is point-based and gives access to travel, gear, services, and events.
Evo, the multifaceted gear, travel, and lodging company, just completely overhauled its membership program. When it launched in November 2021, the program cost $250 (annually) and included gear demos, $100 in store credit, and 10% off the company’s signature adventure trips, among other things.
Now the program is free — and it awards points when you buy evo products, including travel.
evo Membership: How It Works
Let’s talk points. You get one point for every dollar you spend, and they translate directly into discounts you can use later: 200 points are worth $20, 300 points are worth $30, and so on.
Members get 100 points for signing up (which you can now do digitally instead of in store) and earn one point for every dollar spent on an evo product.
You can also nab points for following evo on Instagram and YouTube. The brand even awards points just for having a birthday. Members apply the points at checkout — digitally or in store — to receive their discount.
A member account has to be active at least once during a calendar year for the points to stay valid.
3 Tiers of Rewards
But the three-tiered system is particularly interesting. The Green level is free. To gain access to the Blue level, you need to spend at least $500 on evo products and services. Spending $1,000 gets you into the Black level.
Here’s how the benefits shake out for each level.
Green:
- 1 point for every $1 spent
- 50 points on your birthday
Blue:
- 1 point for every $1 spent
- 75 points on your birthday
- 100 points for entering Blue tier
- 20% off in-store gear service and rentals
Black:
- 1 point for every $1 spent
- 200 points on your birthday
- 200 points for entering Black tier
- 25% off in-store gear service and rentals
- 10% off evoTrip
- Exclusive invites to evo events
- Users qualify for double-point days
The upshot? Members could make a gear purchase and use the points acquired to get that gear serviced in store, all while locking in a sweet discount on a trip to use that gear. There are over 80 global destinations available through evoTrip.
“It’s so exciting that now our customers, by doing what they love, can turn a new ski or snowboard purchase into helping fund backcountry laps in Whistler or Japan, or a new mountain bike,” said Bryce Phillips, founder and CEO of evo.
Evo plans to continue expanding the program to encompass its experiential lodging properties. Head over to evo’s membership page to learn more.
