Fire Power — Another unique power product at the OR Show, the FlameStower was created by two Stanford engineers. You put the device’s outstretched tab (the “blade”) over a flame and the heat is converted to electricity.
Explains the brand, “once the blade is in a fire, thermal energy is transferred to the thermoelectric generator. The hot side gets hot, the cold side stays relatively cool, and the temperature difference generates electricity.” You can then plug in a phone or other device to charge at about the same rate as seen on a laptop USB port, the brand cites.
