Watch Tommy Caldwell Climb Four Routes Over 5.13 In One Day

Rock Climber Tommy Caldwell has been attempting a free climb of El Capitan’s Dawn Wall with partner Kevin Jorgeson for more than five years. The route is a 30-pitch monster — including 13 pitches of 5.13 and seven pitches of 5.14, three of which are 5.14+. Once climbed, the Dawn Wall will be the hardest big wall free climb in the world.

This video was shot of one of Caldwell’s training days, in which he climbed the four hardest routes at Colorado crag The Monastery. To put this in perspective, for many (if not most) climbers, completing a single route above 5.13 would be the achievement of a lifetime. He bangs these out like clockwork.
