Check out my story in today’s New York Times on the sport of rogaine, an orienteering offshoot developed by our Aussie cousins back in the flying 1970’s.
Here’s my explanation from the story. . . “Rogaining’s cryptic name, which baffles many first-time competitors, has no connection to Rogaine, the anti-baldness drug made by Pfizer. The sport’s moniker is a combination of Rod, Gail and Neil, three orienteers credited with popularizing rogaine 30 years ago in Australia.”
