Skiers Sail to Arctic Circle for Epic Adventure in ‘Bifrost’

In this sail-and-ski adventure from Sony, a team of elite athletes — and a pro film crew — head to an Arctic range of steep, coastal mountains for a series of death-defying ski descents.

However, you’ve probably seen something like that before. Here, it’s the Norwegian landscape that shines most brightly. That’s often literally true, with an unforgettable nighttime sequence that puts most modern Hollywood special effects to shame.

It’s also, apparently, the longtime dream of one of the skiers.

“I have a dream about this for many, many years,” Norwegian skier Halvard Eneberg said in the film. “To sail under the Northern Lights and have a picture of a sailing vessel with the sails up and the northern sky in the background.”
