‘Snow Pony’ is a tale of the wild, thrilling rides, deep snow, and an exploration of new terrain.

Amie Engerbretson is a professional skier, podcast host, and producer. But in her latest project, Engerbretson tries something new: snowmobiling.

Her new film, “Snow Pony,” spins a tale of a girl who dreams to chase pow with a snowmobile. “I used to ride in the Truckee Rodeo and I always dreamt of being a rodeo queen,” wrote Engerbretson in the film description.

“I wasn’t allowed to throw my hat in the ring because I didn’t own a horse. Where do my skier and rodeo queen dreams meet? The moment I handed a country boy a stack of cash in rural Wyoming and got myself a snow pony.”

You may wonder what all this has to do with skiing. Well, it’s a way to push the boundaries — literally — and explore new terrain. Learn more, do more, go faster, go farther.

Engerbretson hits her first run of the day as ’80s pop-rock blares. The snow pony is warmed up, the sun is out, and the snow is fresh. It’s a humorous film alright, but the fresh tracks, clean lines, and a few wipeouts make it worth the watch.
