Boa Technology touts its twist-to-tighten, cable-and-dial closure systems as light, easily adjustable and strong. Manufacturers seem to agree. Eight bike shoe brands will release 39 new models with Boa closures by spring 2014.

“Pro riders and cycling enthusiasts appreciate the Boa Closure System’s ability to adjust the fit while riding on the bike,” said Alois Badegruber, Boa’s new European Director. “Partner brands report that the mechanical performance on micro-adjustability, light weight and strength are key for cycling footwear.”
