Zodiac Watches ‘Dive’ in Price Amid Bankruptcy Filing

The Swiss-made watch brand is now selling its entire online inventory at half price. With the brand's parent company in bankruptcy, Zodiac's future is unclear.

Take note, watch lovers: The clock is ticking on what’s likely one of the best sales of the year.

Swiss brand Zodiac — which has long built some of the industry’s most sought-after and iconic watches — is currently selling out its entire online inventory at steep discounts. The sale has been ongoing for weeks, but recently reached a new benchmark by offering 50% off everything that’s left.

That’s great news for those anxious to get their hands on a sweet deal. On the other hand, it’s potentially concerning for those worried about the future of this historic brand.

With a history dating to 1882, Zodiac was integral to some of watchmaking’s most important moments. Its popular Sea Wolf line debuted in 1953 as one of the world’s first dive watches. (Many models within the colorful Sea Wolf line are still available in the online sale.)

Zodiac didn’t immediately respond to GearJunkie requests for comment on Wednesday about the status of the brand. However, Zodiac’s parent company, Fossil, declared bankruptcy in October. Fossil hopes to restructure its finances and keep the doors open for several watch brands, including Skagen, Relic, Zodiac, and others, The Street reported.

In the meantime, it looks like Zodiac loyalists (or those looking to own one of its watches for the first time) have a golden opportunity to snag one at bottom-shelf prices.

Zodiac Super Sea Wolf

Zodiac’s sale includes two models reviewed by GearJunkie in the last few years. When AllGear Editorial Director Sean McCoy tested out a Super Sea Wolf Compression in 2023, he praised its handsome aesthetic, functional dive features, and a price tag that’s far lower than competitors like Rolex, Omega, Seiko, or Tudor.

“The Zodiac Super Sea Wolf is a joy to wear. It earns compliments thanks to its handsome design and colors,” McCoy wrote. “The Zodiac stands out with a rich history and unique appearance that will turn heads.”

Well, now that same watch costs half the price. Nearly 20 models of the Super Sea Wolf — including the orange-and-blue model that turned heads during McCoy’s testing — are still available in the Zodiac sale, all of them for 50% off the retail price.

In another review, McCoy also praised the Super Sea Wolf GMT for its dazzling appearance. The pink-and-white model that he said “catches light from any angle” is also on sale.

Other Super Sea Wolf models include the Super Sea Wolf Compression Diver Black Stainless Steel Watch. This pricier model in the lineup ($2,300 before taking 50% off) has a green malachite semi-gloss dial and black DLC-plated stainless steel case and bracelet.

Other Models

There are only a small handful of other Zodiac watches still available in the online sale, apart from the Super Sea Wolf models. The remaining watches, however, include both the cheapest and most expensive ones still for sale.

First off, there’s the Dress Olympos Automatic Leather Watch, which GearJunkie has called out as one of the best field watches. This handsome timepiece with a green dial and black leather strap costs just $500 after the half-off discount.

Then there are the two Sea-Chron models, which reach the upper limit of Zodiac prices, hovering around $3,000 (before taking off 50%). These burly dive watches have 62-hour power reserves, water resistance to 200 m, and a stainless steel bracelet.

Brick-and-Mortar Sales

Don’t see the Zodiac model you were hoping for on the brand website? Well, you still might be able to find it at rock-bottom prices.

Several retailers have also begun selling Zodiac watches at massive discounts. Many ecstatic buyers have taken to Reddit to spread the word about Zodiac deals they found at T.J. Maxx and Ross.

These sought-after sales began sometime in November, just a few weeks after Fossil announced its bankruptcy filing in October 2025. Given Zodiac’s long history, it’s unlikely the brand will have to close its doors permanently. Even if it did, that would only make these discounted watches more valuable in the long term. Check out the entire sale on the Zodiac website.
