Want the warmth, comfort and cooking ability of a campfire while remaining a little under the radar? Try this trick, called a Dakota Fire Hole, to make a campfire that is more or less invisible from a distance.

As an added bonus, the video by AlfieAesthetics is pretty hilarious. Just be warned the language is a bit off color.

To make the Dakota fire hole, simple dig two holes connected by a small tunnel to allow airflow into the other hole. The video goes into much more detail.

This obviously isn’t an option in some areas with rocky soil or where environmental damage is a concern such as areas in the desert with living soil crusts. But in places like the midwest, which have deep loam soil or sand, a fire hole could be a fun way to mix up your campfire.
