New Video Channel: 'Fast & Light' with Gear Junkie

“How Fast & Light Can The Gear Junkie Go?” — That’s the name of our new micro-site video channel and the premise of a video series we’re launching this fall. The first one, on climbing Kings Peak in Utah, debuted today. See the video below + check out the “Fast & Light” channel in full here. Climb on!

Can we expect a gear list for the trip?

hey, I like the site, really appreciate the gear reviews and have bought stuff based in part on them, but this video puts me to the verge of unsubscribing.

It is too much. The editing, the music – make it seem like you are (or we are supposed to believe you are) doing something super human. 30 miles is a great hike and all, but come on.

I could be an anomalous reader, but I come here for great info on gear – not inspiration to do amazing things. I don’t need you to be Andrew Skurka or Karl Metzer – but I do 100% appreciate the work you do in sifting the crap gear from the good stuff. Videos like this totally distract from the value you add to the outdoor world.

I happened to enjoy the film and the story. It didn’t distract from anything else your team does here – however, it did make me want to skip out of the office and go for a run! You guys get to do some truly fun stuff.
