Star Trek Wetsuit
July 6, 2010, 12:36 pm / Categories: Water & Boats
Decades ago, the intro of Star Trek promised “to boldly go where no man has gone before.” But if you just want to go to the local surf break (not the “final frontier”), the RDT Star Trek wetsuit is for you. They are available now on Roddenberry Productions’ official site.
Fully custom, double glued, blind-stitched and made in the USA, these suits look fully legit. The 7mm version is $470 and available in red, yellow and blue.
As rad as the video for Ke$ha’s single “Tik Tok” featuring old Star Trek footage is, you better be dang good to do this suit justice and not get laughed out of the water. If you’re not that good, you may soon be saying “Beam me up, Scotty,” instead of “Surf’s up, Scotty.”
—Stephen Krcmar lives in Mammoth Lakes, Calif. He’s holding out for the “Mork & Mindy” wetsuit next year.
