Diversity of Shells: Article covers 'Coats for any Climate'

In the past, you owned a single winter jacket. Now, if you’re into a variety of activities, you might own three, or even more. The genre of the winter jacket (coat, parka, puffy, shell. . . whatever you want to call it) has segmented wildly in recent years. There’s now a piece of outerwear for every thinkable activity and climate type.

Ok – Gotta Chime in here. Mostly I agree, or defer to Stephen in his wisdom (and age) and experience. But after being to hell and back (and even to where hell froze over) in the RAB shells, I have only this to say – If I had to clean out my overflowing gear closet and GIVE AWAY ALL MY JACKETS OF ALL TYPESEXCEPT FOR ONE…I would keep the RAB Stretch Neo. How can it not be on this list?!?

Jason, check out the “New-School Softshell” here above (Mammut Gipfelgrat), as it uses NeoShell and is a similar shell.
