Catch the wave as Wes Carter and Atlantic Packaging track down alternatives to plastic products and more in this docuseries.
You’ve likely never heard of Wes Carter. As far as most of us are concerned, he works behind the scenes. But as president of North America’s largest privately held packaging company, he has a big influence on a place we all share: the ocean.
Carter’s position at Atlantic Packaging makes him an unlikely advocate for marine life. Now, he’s fighting to remove plastic from his company’s products and, ultimately, the ocean.
Surprisingly, Carter’s legacy of social advocacy runs deep. In the 1940s, his grandfather Horace’s Pulitzer Prize-winning journalism helped catalyze an FBI investigation that led to the arrest of over 300 Ku Klux Klan members in North Carolina.
Watch the whole story through the lens of surfers, outdoor advocates, and Carter himself in “Don’t Lie Down.” Episode 1 of A New Earth Project’s “Journey to a New Earth” series is live now.
