Hunter RMV was founded in 2015 to create capable and affordable expedition vehicles for the U.S. market. It continually cranks out unique off-road-capable homes on wheels. Its latest creation is the GLOBeRANGER 4X4.

“The GLOBeRANGER 4X4 is a versatile powerhouse designed for the adventurous spirit,” said Keith Storey, founder of Hunter RMV.  “Born from medium-duty truck chassis, this expedition vehicle embraces versatility.”

Based on a Chevy Kodiak C5500 4×4 crew-cab chassis, this expedition camper can likely go just about anywhere it fits. It’s powered by a 6.6L Duramax V-8 diesel backed by a five-speed Allison automatic transmission. It has 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque on tap from the skinny pedal. It has a range of about 500 miles.

The vehicle is set up with Super Singles, as dual rear wheels aren’t the best off road. All GLOBeRANGER 4X4 models are also equipped with winches, LED off-road lighting, and suspension upgrades. It also has a 360-degree camera system, ARB air compressor, under-camper locking storage lockers, and a rear spare tire with winch assist.

Vehicle options include air suspension, e-bike racks, and a variety of other upgrades.

And, there is a pass-through from the cab to the camper. This is a great option, as it is great for staying out of the weather, stealth camping, and security — as you can get from bed to driving the truck without leaving the vehicle.

GLOBeRANGER Habitat

The habitat on this expedition camper build is mounted with a four-point articulating subframe. This allows it to stay as flat as possible while the truck moves around under it when traversing rugged terrain. Roof protection rails help protect the habitat box when the trail gets tight. A rear ladder makes accessing the roof easy.

Composite panels, 2.25 inches thick, make up the habitat box. This helps make it insulated properly for four-season comfort. It also has A/C and heat, for the ultimate in comfort anywhere you might find yourself in this camper.

The camper is designed to sleep up to six. A queen-sized bed drops out of the ceiling above the dinette, the dinette turns into a queen-sized bed, and there is a king-sized bed in the cabover.

The camper also has a full dry bathroom with a toilet, sink, and separate shower. It even has a clothes washing/drying machine!

The kitchen has an induction cooktop, microwave, stainless sink, and large fridge/freezer. It can be spec’ed with a variety of countertops: laminate, quarts, granite, or butcher block.

With 100 gallons of fresh water and up to 1,400 W of solar power panels on the roof powering a minimum of 800 aH of lithium batteries, the GLOBeRANGER is ready for extended off-grid adventures.

Home on Wheels for House Pricing

The Hunter RMV GLOBeRANGER 4X4 seen here, is built on a used Kodiak C5500 chassis and costs $250,000. Pricing for this model starts at $235,000.

These expedition campers can also be built on new chassis, specifically a Chevy C65000 Crew Cab, with all-in pricing starting at $395,000. The new chassis has a DEF system, which makes them less ideal for international travel. Because of this, Hunter RMV can built GLOBeRANGER 4X4 on either a Chevy Kodiak or GMC TopKick C4500/C5500 4X4 Crew Cab chassis, without DEF systems.
