For 16-year-old Tayte Proulx-Royds, it’s impossible to remember a time when she wasn’t on a bike. This teenage shredder, who started riding at the age of 3, has already competed in some of mountain biking’s biggest events.

In 2011, she took home the Dark Horse Award from the Dark Horse Invitational Freeride. Tayte was just 11 years old at the time — the youngest athlete invited to the event. The following year, she podiumed at the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, Calif., and the NW Cup Downhill Series in Port Angeles, Wash.

So, it’s no surprise that Kona Bicycles added the young phenom to its roster of sponsored athletes in 2024. And now we’ve got some of the first fruits of that collaboration: Process Perfected, a breezy edit of Tayte crushing one of her favorite trails in Kelowna, British Columbia.

She rips through the singletrack on her custom Process 134 CR DL, a burly carbon fiber bike the brand updated last year. It will be a part of Tayte’s arsenal as she chases national championship titles in various disciplines, including XC, enduro, and downhill.
