Zip Into A 'Cocoon' Hammock

A new hammock recently funded on Kickstarter has features that make the hanging abode more friendly to long nights in cool weather.

The Adventurers Cocoon ($80 single, $90 double) hammock by Bakpocket Products has a sleeping pad sleeve, which will delight anyone who has used a hammock in cold weather and battled to keep a pad from squirming out from under their sleeping bag while curled in a hammock.

This is a nice addition to this otherwise common hammock design, because without some sort of insulating sleeping pad under your sleeping bag, hammocks tend to be downright chilly in cool weather.

The Adventurers Cocoon also has a pillow pouch in which to stuff a couple shirts or pair of pants to create a “pillow” that will stay put. An optional YKK zipper closure will keep out bugs, dew or sunshine and will add a few dollars to the price (the company isn’t sure on final pricing for direct orders yet).

The company is currently sold out online as it fills orders from their successful fund raising campaign, but does have some stock on hand that it can send out to phone or email orders. More of this design will be available for sale online in November.
