In its 41st year, the Banff Mountain Film Festival highlights “profound journeys, unexpected adventures and ground-breaking expeditions” told by filmmakers from around the globe.

The event is held this week (October 29 – November 6) in its namesake Banff, Alberta. It is regarded as one of the most prestigious mountain festivals in the world.

World Tour: ‘Packing It Out’ Film

An original GearJunkie video, the ‘Packing It Out’ Film was shot by Wild Confluence Media in partnership with REI. It offers a ‘day in the life’ of the Packing It Out team along a desert section of the Pacific Crest Trail in California.

Seth ‘Cap’ Orme and Paul ‘Spice’ Twedt founded the ‘Packing It Out’ project in 2014. Their first expedition was a trash-clearing hike on the Appalachian Trail.

Our film, viewable above, was chosen among hundreds submitted for the Banff World Tour. The traveling event format visits locations around the world. See the full U.S. list here.
