Are you stuck at home and missing your regular yoga class? You’re not alone. Luckily, there are a lot of great online yoga resources to get you back on the mat from the comfort of home.

There are thousands of options out there. Variety is great, but with so many choices, it can be hard to decide which one is right for you. No worries — I’m here to help.

In addition to mountain biking professionally and competing in adventure races around the world, I’ve been a yoga teacher for more than a decade. Training is my life, and I don’t have the patience for ill-performing apps or wasting money on bad classes.

Yoga Anytime

Yoga Anytime yoga app

This yoga app offers more than 2,600 yoga and guided meditation classes from experienced teachers around the world. It also offers fun yoga challenges and courses that help you stay on track and keep the stoke alive.

For those with kids, Deven Sisler offers a variety of family acroyoga classes and children’s yoga classes through this app. It’s a super-fun activity that my 3-year-old son looks forward to every day.

Yoga Anytime is offering a GearJunkie readers a 30-day free trial. Use code GEARJUNKIE at checkout. After that, it’s $18 per month for unlimited classes, and you can cancel at any time.

Glo

Glo Yoga App

With more than 4,000 classes, chances are good you’ll find something you like. Upon signing up, you answer a series of questions that help identify classes that are a good fit.

The interface works well and allows you to easily sort based on time, teacher, or type of workout. From handstands to prenatal yoga classes, there’s a wide variety of offerings.

Glo is offering a free 2-week trial. After that, it’s $18 per month for unlimited classes, and you can cancel whenever you want.

Down Dog

Down Dog Yoga App

This popular app offers a bit of everything. Classes range from beginner yoga to HIIT, barre, and a 7-minute workout. The Down Dog App is only available on your phone, which makes the screen a little too small for some people. However, for those who don’t mind (or prefer it), it’s a great option.

In response to COVID-19 and promoting a stay-at-home message, Down Dog is offering all classes completely free until May 1. Plus, all teachers, students, and healthcare professionals can use the app for free until July 1.

Support Your Local Studio Online

Online Yoga Classes From Your Local Studios

If you were a regular at your local studio before all of this happened, please keep “going” to that studio. Almost every yoga studio out there has moved its classes online. If those class times still work for you while you’re now at home, it’s best and most appreciated by your local studio that you join in.

And some classes are recorded so you can take them later, so be sure to ask about that option.

Online Yoga Classes With Your Favorite Instructor

If you already have a favorite instructor, chances are they’re offering online classes as well. Supporting them by taking their classes from afar will surely help them during this hard time as many teachers are closing studios and canceling teaching travels.

Bottom line: The best yoga is the kind you’ll commit to. So whether you’re a mother at home with not much time to yourself, someone who suddenly has a lot of time on their hands, or someone who needs to chill out after a long day of work, try out a few of the above options and see which one sticks.

Yoga is a great way to decompress and take a break from everything in a healthy way. I know I always feel better after being on my mat, moving and flowing.
