Filming after dark with a GoPro is a pain. A new accessory from Melbourne, Australia, brand Knog sheds some literal light on the situation.
The company’s Qudos light (written as “[qudos]” by the brand) mounts right next to a GoPro camera. It gives 400 lumens of light, which is enough to film biking and other action activities at night.
It will cost $99.95 when released later this month. Knog calls it “the world’s first action video light.” Beyond GoPro, it works with Sony action cams and other cameras with GoPro conversion mounts.
The light has three Cree LEDs and weighs just 150 grams. Modes let a user adjust brightness for the situation and scene. It has an aluminum sink on the back to distribute heat.
Beyond biking, the Qudos is a waterproof light and can be taken surfing, swimming, scuba diving, and anywhere else where the action happens after the sun sets. —Stephen Regenold
